The Bromfield Room
This rustic airconditioned room with its own garden aspect of
plumbago and an ancient pomegranate tree offers a very special
appeal making it a favourite with all guests.
Featuring exposed hand-made bricks, butt jointed original Otway
hardwood flooring, with Turkish floor rugs, a Baltic pine coved
ceiling, Japanese wood-block prints, antique brass and iron
queen sized bed, this was the original homestead kitchen.
It has an open fireplace and still retains the original peel and
bakers’ oven which is in the wall.
It is a warm and inviting bedroom with ensuite bathroom adjacent
to the homestead’s central courtyard with a comfortable couch to
relax in front of the open fire. Internet access & in room DVD
available.
This room was named after John Davenport Bromfield who built the
homestead back in 1865. A visit to Christ Church Birregurra will
reveal that he laid the church’s foundation stone in 1870. |
